Jack's Story

While I was checking my email this morning, Jack sat on my lap and drew a picture. As he was drawing and talking aloud, I tuned in and realized I was hearing a story. So I started typing it out. This is what I heard:

When it was raining I was just asleep, they were falling asleep. They were fine and that’s the story-the end.
It was raining, the rain fell down on the little bird. The bird started to cry he wanted his mommy there, but she wasn’t there so he just cried and cried.
Then the rain stopped, then they were safe..the end.
The thunders come from the sky...the rain fall down on the little eagle. And then the big wolf was in the grass and it farted and it is eating the grass. And the kangaroo was just hopping and the eagle just wanted his mommy. She was just in the back of the garage getting her make-up.

Let's Get Creative!

As a parent one of the worst things to hear from your children is nothing at all. It ususally spells trouble in our household, as was the case this morning. While I was making Jack and Olive's breakfast they were in the bedroom playing "dinosaur paradise." After a couple of minutes of hearing not one giggle, roar, not even a "no Olive"- I went to check on them. This is what I found...

Droplets of milk covering EVERYTHING, including Olive's hair. All I could say was, "What happened?"
Jack answered with one word, "snow."
