Piece of Cake

Jack and Olive help make a cake. Olive sits and watches intently as all the ingredients are added to the mixing bowl. Jack is bored; he goes back to watching Finding Nemo; The chef (Mommy) calls in the expert when it is time to "test" the batter....

Jack approves.

 After all the hard work of watching and waiting, Jack and Olive reap the fruit of their labor.

What's for Dinner...

Jack and Olive woke up with an extra dose of exuberance today. So the morning has been filled with running, jumping, climbing, dumping- basic disarray. In an effort to distract them and calm the chaos I asked if chicken sounds good for dinner. Jack answered, "Well, as a matter of fact, I don't." "You don't what?" I asked. He said, "I don't think chicken."  I then asked what he would like instead. His answer: "just cows."

 I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried...

Where's the Filipino?

Jack and Olive made a new friend, Dita. She is from the Philippines and has been telling us we need to "let the babies eat Filipino food." Sunday she made sticky rice for us and Jack was HOOKED! He loved it so much that he pulled out all stops to get more. He tried charming, pledging and begging until he was finally caught standing on a box, digging some out of the pan. Later that night we had taco salad (usually a favorite) for dinner. He looks down at his bowl, turns his nose up and says, "where's the filipino?"

Trip to the Zoo

Jack and Olive had their first official encounter with the creatures of wild!!! 

Opposite Day...

I'm a Toddler!

Olive says bye-bye to babyhood and moves full steam ahead, embracing her toddler years. And who could blame her, when doing so means trying new things like ice cream!

Let's Go for a Ride!

Jack visited the local fire station today where he got to test out the oldest engine in the fire house. After sitting there silently for a few seconds he looks up at Nathan and says, "I want to get out." Nathan asked him if he was sure that he wanted to leave since we just got there. "Nooo, I want to get this out of here," Jack replied. He wanted to take the truck out for a spin!

Jack didn't want storytime to end tonight. So he decided to pick up reading where daddy left off...
